AutoLux Ltd. o/a Rapid City Transportation has been specializing in medical transportation logistics services for 30 years, supporting all of Ontario offering door-to-door concierge style transportation for individuals requiring special care - before, during and after their transfers. 

We are seeking a leader, someone who is highly motivated and experienced in overseeing Accounting functions and processes, and has the ability to effectively manage a small team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy of records, and supporting in preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance requirements.  This individual will work closely with senior leadership, internal departments, customers, 3rd party vendors, regulatory bodies and auditors.

 What will your responsibilities be?

  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of accounting clerks, providing guidance on day-to-day accounting tasks, training, and professional development.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review accounting procedures and processes, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Audit & Compliance: Lead internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and schedules are provided. Ensure compliance with all tax filings and regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Have an understanding of and provide support with financial analysis and insights to senior leadership to support decision-making processes.
  • Financial Reporting: Have an understanding of and support with preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Have an understanding of and provide support with budgeting and forecasting process, working with department heads to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Tax Management: Have an understanding of and provide support with tax preparation and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal tax laws.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 5 years relevant working experience, with at least 2 years of managerial or team lead experience.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excellent Excel), Sage, QuickBooks, ADP WFN, SharePoint an asset.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
