As CreateTO strives to achieve its ambitious goals, the agency is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and reporting functions for CreateTO and its affiliated entities, Build Toronto and Toronto Port Lands Corporation. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and efficiency across the organization, supporting its mission to deliver transformative real estate solutions for Toronto. Responsible for financial operations, the Controller plays a critical role in delivering accurate and timely financial data to support the strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and operational decision making of the business. Reporting to the CFO, they will lead and cultivate a high-performing team driven by a commitment to continuous improvement
The successful candidate brings over 10 years of progressive experience in the finance and controller function within the real estate sector, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of proven leadership in managing teams and developing talent. A seasoned finance professional, they possess deep expertise in accounting, regulatory reporting, and strategic decision-making, complemented by a data-driven and objective approach to addressing challenges. Known for exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, they excel at fostering trust and consensus at all organizational levels. Self-reliant and results-oriented, this individual is committed to driving initiatives with energy, passion, and humility, all while promoting a collaborative and respectful workplace culture. Armed with a CPA, CA designation and an undergraduate degree, they are well-equipped to navigate complex financial landscapes and champion CreateTO’s mission to shape a better Toronto.
