Position Title: Finance Manager
Reports to: CEO, Vega Education Group (Interim)
Schedule: Full-Time. Monday to Friday; 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime during peak periods. Some requirements to be on-call outside regular business hours (evenings/weekends).

Position Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for the management and planning functions, including accounts payable and receivable and other general accounting and budgeting tasks of International Business University (IBU) and Vega Academic Services Inc., a back-office service provider to IBU. The incumbent in this role is also responsible for monitoring budgets, managing records, reconciling transactions, and preparing reports and balance sheets. As a Finance Manager, you will work closely with various departments under IBU and Vega Academic Services to ensure alignment and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing full-cycle accounting and financial functions for the International Business University and Vega Academic Services Inc.
- Overseeing and coordinating financial reporting for provincial and federal regulations.
- Overseeing all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Ensuring all month/quarter/year-end accounting duties and financial reporting are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Working with payroll system to execute payroll and required filings, including generating and distributing T4s, ROEs.
- Filing GST, WCB and other government remittances.
- Preparing year-end auditing requirements and supporting the year-end audit process.
- Other related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have the following essential qualifications:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum four years of related experience in accounting or finance roles.
- CPA designation completed or in the process is preferred.
- Must have prior experience in QuickBooks and advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication as well as written skills, coupled with a strong sense of self-motivation and accountability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage workload and conflicting priorities, handle multiple tasks, and complete assignments with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Working effectively and accurately under pressure of high volume and frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work in a team environment and exercise tact, discretion, flexibility, and sound judgment.
- A positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in working within an educational environment.
