Position Title: Director of Finance
Reports to: CEO, Vega Education Group
Schedule: Full-Time. Monday to Friday; 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime during peak periods. Some requirements to be on-call outside regular business hours (evenings/weekends).

Position Summary
The Director of Finance is a key leadership position responsible for developing and executing short and long-term strategic and financial plans, providing financial guidance, and overseeing the finance portfolio of International Business University (IBU) and Vega Academic Services Inc., a back-office service provider to IBU. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accountability, driving operational efficiency, and managing the growing Finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic advice and guidance to the senior leadership on IBU's finance and budgeting processes, financial planning, and resource allocation.
- Oversees the preparation and management of financial forecasts, budgets, and comprehensive quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Lead and manage all aspects of the finance portfolio for International Business University and Vega Academic Services Inc., ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, external audit requirements and financial best practices.
- Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks to protect organizational assets and ensure sustainability.
- Identify, design, and implement improvements to financial systems, business processes, policies and administrative workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Champion and drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial operations, ensuring adaptability and innovation.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce rigorous financial accountability standards across the organization.
- Other duties as required.
The successful candidate will have the following essential qualifications:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- CPA designation is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, experience in higher education is preferred.
- Proven leadership skills, experience in team building, leading change and adapting to new technologies.
- Strong computer skills including Financial Information Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, negotiating and mediating skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and discretion when necessary and keep confidential highly sensitive information; highly developed and effective problem-solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Superior interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within strict timeline constraints; proven ability to respond to frequently changing priorities; demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in working within an educational environment.
