Position Overview:
Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Finance & Digital Transformation has overall responsibility for the organization’s financial operations and evolution and integration of Ovarian Cancer Canada’s digital transformation strategy. Providing leadership to a team of high performing professionals, the Director ensures sound accounting and financial management and control systems, while creating opportunities for seamless integration of new and existing digital solutions to maximize OCC’s digital strategy. The Director will partner with business leads to understand OCC’s current state and develop innovative strategies to align with OCC’s strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leads to evaluate and understand internal processes to assess, analyze and recommend opportunities for digital enhancement.
  • Create and embed a prioritisation approach to develop a roadmap for innovation with the relevant processes, tools, and metrics to support business objectives and new growth opportunities.
  • Evolve and manage OCC’s digital transformation strategy by applying best practices in the industry, leading cross-functional teams, effectively managing stakeholder's expectations and becoming an integral trusted advisor for tech initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate IT infrastructure is acquired to support the digital transformation strategy.
  • Ensure optimal practices and controls are developed and adhered to with respect to the organization’s financial management and digital financial strategies.
  • Act as senior staff lead on all financial management matters including routine financial reporting, budget preparation and oversight and timely reporting of organizational cash flow.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports to inform expeditious decision-making for the CEO, Audit & Risk Committee and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversight of staff payroll as well as statutory and/or regular remittances.
  • Act as senior staff lead on annual organizational audit, reporting progress and key issues to CEO.
  • Develop and steward strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders within scope of responsibility that contribute to the advancement of strategic goals.
  • Responsible for budget accountability, reporting, monthly forecast and spend accuracy.
  • Support general office administration and organizational events, as required.

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

  • University degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Professional designation (CPA, CGA) required.
  • Highly developed financial reporting, budgeting, and project management skills, coupled with excellent analytical skills.
  • Minimum of seven (7) to nine (9) years’ recent, related experience.
  • Non-profit experience considered an asset. Entrepreneurial spirit with track record for achieving results.
  • Strong leadership ability, with proven track-record of translating business objectives to transformation programs and initiatives, with clear technical solutions that drive ROI.
  • Sound knowledge of process improvement disciplines.
  • Experience working with a variety of technology solutions including Blackbaud products (Raiser’s Edge, Luminate Online, Team Raiser), Financial Edge and Office 365 or related systems, strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, high-performing team.
  • Bilingual (English and French) an asset.
  • The successful candidate will be required to comply with a police background check as a contingency of hiring.
