POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Controller, North America, the Assistant Controller plays a pivotal role in aligning financial reporting with operational decision-making. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of simplifying processes and building a robust framework of structure, controls, and guidelines to support the accounting team. The Assistant Controller will also act as a liaison between plant operations and the financial team, ensuring accurate cost accounting, intercompany entries, and full-cycle accounting activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Examining system parameters, performance metrics, configurations, and operational metrics, to derive insights or actionable data.

Manage cost accounting and inventory revaluations (standard and “First In, First Out”) for two plants.

Perform intercompany reconciliations and entries, including inventory and profit eliminations.

Support month-end close processes, with a special focus on operations in the USA and Mexico.

Assist in the creation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts.

Deliver actionable insights through detailed financial analysis.

Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations.

Assist in the preparation of audit schedules for external auditors.

Analyze cost center details and explain variances effectively.

Ensure adherence to purchasing procedures and controls.

Provide support for ERP system implementation and optimization.

Consolidate financial statements across business units.

Identify, assess, and execute risk and opportunity management strategies.

Develop and maintain control processes, including month-end calendars and schedules.

Hold team members accountable for meeting deadlines and delivering results.

Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
3-5 years’ experience in accounting and finance, required;

A minimum of 2 of these years in a manufacturing environment, required.

Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in accounting or finance, required.

A high level of proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, required.

Accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA), preferred.
