Financial Controller - Growth and Expansion

A strong three-person management team is looking for a progressive Controller to round out the strategic leadership team. As Controller, you will be integral to our M&A activities while driving financial operations across our expanding business. Key Responsibilities

Provide support and input for the mergers and acquisitions process. Collaborate with executive management on financial strategies, planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Manage annual reporting requirements and banking relationships. Lead the cash flow forecasting process. Lead the budgeting process and deliver regular analysis. Oversee all accounting operations. Perform account analysis to identify financial trends and variances. Manage the workflow and performance of accounting staff to ensure timely, accurate reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Monitor and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial financial regulations and standards. Supervise payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment to employees. Leverage Excede® by Procede® Software to optimize financial processes and reporting.

Qualifications

CPA designation. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is an asset. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role. Experience with mergers and acquisitions preferred. Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; experience with Excede® by Procede® Software is an asset. Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing finance teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
