Are you a hands-on CPA with a passion for driving financial system transformations? The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) is seeking a skilled Project Accountant to lead the implementation of Sage Intacct, our new cloud-based financial software. This is a unique 6-month contract opportunity to be at the forefront of a critical system upgrade, working collaboratively with our Finance and IT teams to modernize processes and enhance reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
As Project Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in transitioning from our legacy Great Plains system to Sage Intacct. Leveraging your expertise in accounting software implementations, you’ll ensure seamless data migration, integration, and process optimization.
Data Migration & Integration:
- Download and manage financial databases from the current system (GP). Lead the migration of financial data from Great Plains to Sage Intact, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational policies.
- Map fields between systems and validate data alignment with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with CRM suppliers to import financial data effectively into Sage Intacct.
Data Testing & Validation:
- Design and execute rigorous data testing to confirm successful migration.
- Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth integration.
Reporting & System Testing:
- Test and validate reports in Sage Intacct to meet business requirements.
- Develop and optimize financial reports based on stakeholder needs to ensure reporting capabilities are optimized and fully functional.
Process Streamlining & Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes using Sage Intacct’s features.
- Propose and implement process improvements to drive efficiency.
Documentation & Support:
- Document procedures, issues, and resolutions for future reference and training.
- Provide ongoing support, including troubleshooting issues and offering solutions, to the Finance team during the transition.
Qualifications We're Excited About:
Education: CPA designation is required.
Experience:
- Proven experience in accounting software implementations, particularly with data migration, integrations, and system testing.
- Strong background in accounting and financial reporting, with a deep understanding of databases and field matching.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred).
- Experience working with a Canadian regulator will be considered an asset.
CRM Expertise: Familiarity with Dynamics 365 CRM integrations in accounting systems will be an asset.
Excel Master: Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, advanced knowledge of formulas).
Analytical Thinker: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for managing large datasets and ensuring accurate data transfers.
Process Optimizer: Comfortable with system testing, troubleshooting, and identifying issues.
Problem Solver: Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving issues in a fast-paced environment.
Clear Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
