Overview:
As an Accounting Specialist at DENSO, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, conducting account analysis, and supporting various accounting functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable and Sales processing and reporting including cash application.
- Inventory analysis and monthly reconciliation in-house inventory reports with general ledger.
- Physical Inventory reconciliation and reporting twice per year.
- Monthly reconciliation of general accounts and inter-company accounts. Ability to resolve variances by investigating and communicating with various group companies.
- Preparing and filing GST/HST returns, withholding tax and corporate taxes.
- Cash application and bank reconciliations including daily/weekly cash management.
- Cash forecasting
- Run month end allocation of various expenses.
- Financial statement analysis and submission using in house financial system.
- Work with multiple departments within DENSO to resolve accounting issues.
- Understand and communicate to other departments any financial statements impact for any corrections and accruals of their departments.
- Identify gaps and develop process improvement and prevention activities including identifying root causes and determining countermeasures while using PDCA process and to report across other departments to meet KPI and G&O’s target.
- Recommend and establish policies and procedures deemed necessary for improving accuracy and efficiency in accounting.
- To collaborate and communicate with cross functional departments and group companies.
- Provide training in Oracle and other systems as needed and requested by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Level of Education and Training Required
Requires an Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of relevant experience. Have a Chartered Professional Accountant designation or in the final completion of the CPA designation. Experienced with computerized accounting systems such as Oracle, Advanced Excel experience in V-Lookup formulas and pivot tables.
Minimum Level of Knowledge and Skills Required
