Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Tax Manager, an individual contributor role, will work with the Senior Finance team, the Legal team and external service advisors as well as with various other members of the Finance and Corporate Governance teams to optimize ISC’s corporate structure and minimize ISC’s effective tax rate and cash taxes. This position will also be responsible for the consolidated tax provision, preparing and filing of corporate and commodity tax returns and other tax filings for all entities in the consolidated group, managing tax audits and providing tax advisory services on various corporate initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases and conducting business in new jurisdictions.
In addition to an in-depth understanding of corporate tax planning and strategy, international taxation principles and regulations, tax code proficiency and legislation interpretation, risk management and tax positioning, and financial acumen, our ideal candidate can analyze and leverage complex data and interpret the implications for tax purposes. This includes the ability to perform tax modelling, forecast tax liabilities and identify tax risks. Critical thinking skills are essential for assessing different tax scenarios, making informed decisions, and developing innovative solutions to tax related challenges.
Likely preparation includes:

➢10+ years of corporate tax experience.
➢strong technical tax background in Canadian tax.
➢experience with interpreting and applying Canadian tax legislation.
➢ knowledge of IFRS accounting standards including IAS 12 and IFRIC 23.
This role will resonate with individuals who have already experienced or are ready to experience what it means to have a seat at the management table but do not want to be too far removed from practicing their tax craft.
