Responsibilities

- Collect, organize and analyze client disclosure documents;

- Prepare financial and net family property statements;

- Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations;

- Prepare drafts of correspondence including letter to clients, letters to counsel, letters to financial institutions, letter to third party professionals;

- Liaise professionally with clients, lawyers, mediators and other professionals;

- Open, close and maintain settlement files;

- Coordinate meeting dates and;

- Assist with additional duties as needed.

 

Qualifications

· 2-7 years of work experience in finance and / or family law

· Designation in Finance, Accounting or related field (i.e. CPA, CA, CGA, CFP, CFA, CDFA, etc)

· Proven experience in financial analysis

· Excellent computer proficiency is a must (MS Office – Word, Excel and Adobe)

· Experience with DivorceMate, Dropbox and Docusign is an asset

· Understand (or are willing to learn) the Ontario Family Law Rules

· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given

· Strong attention to detail

· Want to work in a small team environment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
