What you will be doing:
- Provide accounting support for fixed asset accounting which includes maintenance of JD Edwards fixed asset ledgers including additions, disposals, transfers and recording of depreciation/amortization on a periodic basis for multiple legal entities
- Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts for depreciation and amortization schedules
- Prepare and analyze actual variance analysis versus budgets and forecast and provide details
- Prepare monthly utility accruals and analysis/reporting of utility costs versus budget and forecast
- Record/Confirm company's prepaids and fixed asset additions to ensure adherence to company's policy as well as maintain prepaid amortization schedule and track projects status for projects under construction in progress
- Analyze adjustments and prepare journal entries for month end close and assist with period end close, analysis and reporting
- Prepare month end account reconciliations for fixed assets, prepaids, and other A/R and accrual GL accounts including analysis and investigation
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
How you will succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting required
- Enrollment in CPA/CGA/CMA accounting designation preferred
- 2-3 years experience with enterprise software including fixed asset module, JD Edwards an asset
- Ability to meet month end deadlines
- Good working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
