Your Role
Reporting to the Controller, the Analyst - Financial Reporting is responsible for, but not limited to, preparation of quarterly/annual financial statements and working papers, analysis of accounts to identify errors and inconsistencies, posting adjustments and ensuring quality of accounting records. The Analyst – Financial Reporting will support and manage all aspects of financial reporting to provide accurate information to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis, including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows and equity in accordance with ASPE.
- Preparation of working papers using CaseWare for Compilation & Review Engagements.
- Work closely with the company’s Auditor to finalize year-end financial statements and tax returns.
- Research balance sheet items and income/expense fluctuations
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
- Interpret and analyze financial information posted to general ledger accounts
- Document business transactions
- Perform quality assurance and deliver recurring reports accurately and on-time
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining information
- Provide ad hoc financial reports, tables, exhibits as requested
What You Bring:
- CPA Designation preferred (working towards will be considered based on previous Public Accounting experience)
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience including experience working at a recognized CPA firm using CaseWare Working Papers
- Previous Real Estate accounting experience an asset
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards
- Experience Constellation Newstar (REMS) an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel,Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Strong oral and written communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
