Our client, a local Accounting Firm, is seeking a Director, Valuations & Litigation Support to join their team as the firm continues to grow. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan engagements, including preparing/reviewing quotes and budgets, identifying key issues, setting approach, and assigning tasks to staff.
  • Monitor budgets and timelines for engagements throughout the month.
  • Track file status to ensure progress aligns with expectations.
  • Liaise with clients to gather information, manage expectations, and provide updates.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of models, schedules, and reports, with a focus on litigation support engagements (e.g., shareholder disputes, matrimonial disputes, estate litigation, damage quantification).
  • Provide constructive feedback to direct reports.
  • Maintain the Job Status List daily/weekly and communicate file status to partners.
  • Assist with monthly billing expectations and review of actual invoices.
  • Update schedules, reports, and completion documents as needed to efficiently close files.
  • Develop business proposals and presentations for current and prospective clients.
  • Train and develop Associates, Junior Associates, and interns; conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Meet target billable hours and participate in business development activities.
  • Continuously assess and improve internal processes and templates.
  • Provide upward feedback to enhance processes and communication.
  • Create and implement division Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Report KPI results to Managing Partners and the Executive team.
Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • CPA and CBV designations required; CFF or CFE designations are considered assets.
  • 2-5 years of experience managing a team of professionals.
  • 4-7 years of experience in valuations and litigation support.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of accounting, auditing, and personal and corporate taxation.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and valuation analysis.
  • Experience with matrimonial litigation, including income determinations.
  • Experience in estate litigation and/or quantification of damages is considered an asset.
  • Experience with personal injury and income capacity reports is considered an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with IF and VLOOKUP functions; VBA knowledge is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
