Ornge is a vital part of Ontario’s health care system and provides high quality air ambulance service and medical transport to people who are ill or injured. In the air and on the ground, Ornge’s job is to be there for patients, so they can get where they need to be.

Ornge provides a range of services including, emergency and non-urgent response and transport, supporting remote communities, and finding innovative solutions based on geographic and population needs. With the largest air ambulance and critical care land ambulance fleet in Canada, Ornge services 13 million people over one million square kilometres of land, and performs approximately 21,000 patient-related transports per year.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Finance, Risk, Procurement, and Information Technology teams. As a trusted advisor, the Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic direction and priorities for the planning, development and management of the diverse financial services needs across the organization.

This is an impactful opportunity for a proven finance leader. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of financial management, with experience working in a complex and multi-site organization. Expertise within hospitals or healthcare is a strong asset, but not required. You bring experience overseeing a broad portfolio, such as Procurement, IT, and Risk, and execute effectively. You build collaborative partnerships, and have demonstrated experience motivating, aligning, and empowering your teams to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders. You thrive in fast paced and time sensitive environments and are passionate about Ornge’s need and ability to provide safe, patient-centric service to all Ontarians, regardless of location.

To fill this position, Ornge has partnered with leadership advisory firm Odgers Berndtson. Applications are encouraged immediately and should be submitted online at https://careers.odgersberndtson.com/en-ca/29768. For more information, please contact Kristen Manning of Odgers Berndtson. We thank those who express an interest, however only those chosen for further development will be contacted.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Ornge is an equal opportunity employer. In accordance with the Accessible Canada Act, 2019 and all applicable provincial accessibility standards, upon request, accommodation will be provided by both Odgers Berndtson and Ornge throughout the recruitment, selection and/or assessment process to applicants with disabilities.

Odgers Berndtson is deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all the work that we do.
