Bring Your Reporting and Analysis Skills to Our Finance Team
CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Financial Analyst to prepare and analyze business and management reports in support of the organization’s planning and decision-making processes. In this role you will support our leaders with reporting and analytics, maintain existing reports, collaborate with members of the Finance team and cross-functionally with other departments, and contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting efforts.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Performing monthly and quarterly financial reporting, conducting variance analysis to support decision-making, track operational metrics, and communicate and analyze results with key stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Collaborating with Business Unit leads to develop, analyze, and support the budgeting and forecasting process, preparing presentations and summarizing the budget and forecast for the senior leadership and assessing assumptions, identifying risks and opportunities.
Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process by designing and formatting relevant templates and consolidating budget data.
Collaborating cross-functionally with leadership across the organization to understand and translate business objectives and provide analysis to track key performance indicators and budgets.
Collaborating closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Who You Are:
A post-secondary graduate preferably in finance, accounting or business with a minimum 2 years’ experience as a Financial Analyst, and a deep understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Enrolled in or in the process of completing the CPA certification program; a completed CPA designation and current member in good standing is strongly preferred.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams with advanced Microsoft Excel functions and data manipulation techniques, including but not limited to pivot tables, arrays, formulas, and macros. Experience with Power Query, Power BI or SQL query an asset.
Experienced at extracting data, creating queries, developing complex reports ad providing detailed analysis.
Experienced at translating complex financial concepts into final reports and summaries for management presentations.
An excellent communicator (verbal and written) with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and able to work as part a team and collaborate with others across multiple departments and at all levels.
Flexible working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment where work outside of regular business hours may be required.
