Kreston GTA is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing tax department. Kreston GTA is a six-partner firm located in Markham and Aurora which provides accounting, tax, assurance and related services to corporations and individuals. Our client base is diverse from various industries.
Overview of Position:
We currently seeking a Tax Manager to join our tax practice. This versatile role will involve working directly with a number of our staff and clients. We are looking for an individual whom is committed to a career in taxation and has the desire to take a lead role in managing cross border tax, restructuring, estate and other tax engagements and contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients.
Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and cross border investment and compliance. We are interested in meeting candidates with experience in any of these areas.
Requirements of Position:
- Canadian and/or US Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
- Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or relevant work experience
- Minimum of one year in a manager level position in public practice
- Three to four years of experience with Canadian tax (US tax a plus)
- A background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of Canadian and U.S. income taxation
- Experience in issues relevant to owner managed businesses
- Experience in foreign reporting and cross border issues a plus
- Experience in capital dividends, ABILs, restructuring, working with large groups, a plus
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and manage a demanding workload and multiple deadlines
- Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and develop team members
- Proficiency in ProSystem fx Tax, CaseWare, TaxPrep, CCH IntelliConnect and Microsoft Office
