Payroll Accountant/Specialist

On Side Restoration is looking for a Payroll Accountant/Specialist to join our team! This position offers a unique opportunity to work with our exceptional team of payroll professionals AND our finance group. Acting as a bridge between the two groups, the Payroll Accountant/Specialist position calls for an analytical mind, a professional demeanor, and a social personality.

The Payroll Accountant/Specialist must have the skills to be able to see the financial big picture, while having an appreciation and understanding of the small details that make up payroll and finance for a rapidly growing organization. This position is best summed up by the words: information and analysis.

The Payroll Accountant/Specialist is responsible for:

• Reconciling payroll and benefit accounts.
• Providing information for the purposes of analysis and conducting variance analysis.
• Analyzing financial information with an accurate eye.
• Preparing financial reconciliations.
• Working with Avanti (HRIMS) payroll reporting, to ensure accuracy.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including budgets.
• Liaises with internal and external auditors on related payroll related accounts.
• Building and creating reports by extracting and compiling information from Avanti (HRIMS) Navision (financial system).

Qualification and Requirements:

• CPA designation.
• 3+ years’ experience in payroll.
• 1+ years' experience preparing payroll budgets in a large organization (500+ employees)
• Experience analysing financial information and preparing financial reconiliations on 20+ accounts.
• Experience with extracting/compiling and preparing reports 
• Experience with hourly and salaried payroll is an asset.
• Experience with Avanti payroll software is an asset.

Work location: The Payroll Accountant/Specialist position allows for work in any location in Canada that On Side Restoration has a branch.
