About the Role:

Reporting to the AVP, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis plays a critical part in ensuring effective financial management and decision-making and is ideal for candidates who are interested in creating strong partnerships across the organization, “rolling up their sleeves”, and developing a broad range of skills required for the next step in their career.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast cycles, working closely with department heads and senior management.
  • Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and analyses for the Board of Directors and Executive Management Team providing clear insights into financial performance, risk and opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with key business partners in understanding cost activities and drivers, as well as profitability dimensions.
  • Provide financial support to evaluate new business strategies and initiatives, including  profitability analyses and investment business cases.
  • Support the Investor Relations function with materials used for AGF’s quarterly earnings call and investor meetings as needed.
  • Provide financial support for corporate development initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Senior Manager & Manager of FP&A.

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Completion of CPA designation.
  • 7 to 10 years of managerial experience in FP&A.
  • Experience within the financial services industry highly desirable.
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights and Workday Financials is an asset.
  • Advanced level of understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, an acute attention to detail, and an eye towards continuous process improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills to effectively work and communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to adapt, learn quickly and work independently on multiple competing priorities.
  • Thrives in a complex and changing work environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
