We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking self-starter who wants to make a lasting impact on our organization and community as a Financial Analyst!

As a key member of the Finance Team, you will be committed to the guiding values of the Town of Innisfil’s Strategic Plan 2030 and will be responsible for the coordination and processing of accounting transactions and financial reporting. You will also collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and the Supervisor of Accounting and Budgets in the preparation, presentation, and ongoing monitoring of the Town’s annual operating and capital budgets and forecasts, as well as:

 

  • Consulting and advising departments on financial results; performing analysis to monitor capital and operating budget performance, identifying budget variances and providing ongoing consultation in the proactive management of budgets.
  • Reconciliation and analysis of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and preparing adjustments to journal entries.
  • Assisting and/or preparing the annual consolidated financial statements and financial information returns.
  • Working with other service areas to establish and maintain capital asset ledgers and to provide ongoing analysis of asset management plans to identify funding requirements.
  • Operating financial software systems and participating in evaluating financial processes to achieve automation for efficiency improvements.

 

The preferred candidate holds the following:

 

  • University degree in Commerce or Business Administration, or a related field of study.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the accounting and financial field, preferably in a municipal environment.
  • A CPA designation or progress towards designation is preferred.
  • Availability to accommodate deadlines, meeting attendance and peak periods that may extend beyond the normal workday or occur on evenings/weekends as may be required.

 

Closing date is June 2, 2024.

The salary range for this position is $75,348 - $89,653 per annum (Based on a 35-hour week) and the successful candidate will be compensated within this range.
