Position

The position of Controller would report directly to the Vice President - Finance at I-Gard Corporation. This position requires a post-secondary degree. 

Responsibility

You will be responsible to support the Vice President - Finance to ensure the accounts and transactions of the Company are kept in a prompt and accurate manner.

Functions

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts.
  • Management of Company A/R, A/P, Inventory and General Ledger functions.
  • Coordinate and conduct semi-annual Company physical inventory count
  • Prepare and analyze various Company internal reports.
  • Maintain Company’s information system, including training of employees.
  • Other duties as required.

Performance measurements

With respect to this specific position, the contributions to be measured are as follows:

  • The quality and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis for which you are responsible.
  • Debtor and creditor days.
  • Your ability to work as an effective, contributing member of the I-Gard team.

It should be noted that these measures are intended to allow you to direct your efforts as much as to evaluate your performance.

Base Compensation

The salary and benefit package for this position is commensurate with experience and is paid in weekly increments through a direct deposit basis into the Canadian bank of your choice.

Hours of Work

Normal hours of work are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, this is a salaried position, and you are expected to work sufficient hours, within reason, to complete your assigned duties. Overtime is not payable for this position.

Vacation

The position is entitled to 2 weeks vacations annually and this will rise to 3 weeks after 4 years of employment and 4 weeks after 7 years of employment.

Statutory Holidays

You are entitled to 11 statutory holidays each year including: Additional days can be added at Company discretion.

New Year’s Day January 1st , Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day July 1st, August Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day December 25th and 26th.

If your religious observances cause you to wish to substitute the Christian holiday dates for other dates, this is acceptable.  The total number of holidays may not exceed 11.

Probationary Period

Your employment at I-Gard Corporation shall be subject to an initial Probationary period of three months from your start date. During this probationary period, I-Gard may terminate your employment for any reason whatsoever without cause, notice or payment in lieu of notice

Confidentiality

If you are hired and accept the position, you accept that you shall not, either while you are employed by I-Gard Corporation, or at any time thereafter, disclose to any person any information concerning the business of affairs of I-Gard Corporation whether for your own benefit or for the detriment or possible detriment of I-Gard Corporation.

Inventions

 All ideas, inventions or developments or innovations, (hereafter called “inventions”) which you make during your employment with I-Gard shall become the property of I-Gard. This applies to any inventions developed using I-Gard’s facilities or during your working hours at I-Gard. This also applies to any inventions made outside I-Gard but which are within the general product scope offered by I-Gard.

Should a patent be issued in your name for an invention as described above, you agree to sign all rights to this patent to I-Gard without further compensation.

Non-Solicitation

If you are hired and accept the position, you agree that for a period of six, (6), months from the end or termination of your employment from I-Gard Corporation, for any reason, you will not directly or indirectly solicit orders for or supply any goods or services similar to or capable of being used in the place of I-Gard’s goods or services, from or to:

a) Any person or business supplied by I-Gard during the one year period prior to termination or end of your employment.

b) With whom I-Gard Corporation has, at termination date, entered into negotiations.

You further agree that for a period of six, (6), months from the termination or end of your employment, for whatever reason, you will not directly or indirectly solicit, employ in competition to I-Gard Corporation any person who has been an employee of I-Gard during the one year period prior to the termination date.

Non Smoking Environment

The plant and offices of I-Gard Corporation is a non-smoking environment and you will not be allowed to smoke on the premises.
