We are now looking to add a high-level Executive Accountant to oversee and manage our recent acquisitions. Working hand in hand with corporate CFOs, this individual will be responsible for overall strategy, process implementation and overseeing day-to-day operations of four small-sized companies and one large construction project.

Job Duties:
- Complete month-end and year-end financial statements.
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and inter-company account reconciliations.
- Preparation of government filings including HST, EHT, WSIB and Payroll remittances
- Preparation and filing of T4 summaries and T5 summaries.
- Preparation of annual corporate and personal tax returns.
- Assist in overseeing all accounting and financial aspects related to joint ventures and limited partnerships.
- Oversee cash flow planning for all companies and ensure the availability of funds to meet operational and strategic needs.
- Identify areas for cost reductions and operational improvements through annual budget process and through periodic forecasting and analysis of company performance.
- Gather information from all departments to analyze and prepare reports for Senior Management to Review.
- Design, implement, and maintain standardized financial processes and internal financial reporting periods.
- Liaise between the finance department and operations.
- Complete ad hoc financial projects as requested.
- Mentor team members and foster a safe working environment conducive to teamwork, learning and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Manage staff, which may include hiring and firing (with the CFO’s approval), training, scheduling, and performing periodic performance reviews.
- Respond to customers and internal inquiries in a timely fashion, escalating concerns to the CEO.
Other Job Duties:
- Such other related or unrelated tasks as may be assigned by the Company in its sole, absolute and unfettered discretion which are not directly related to the Primary Duties.
Requirements:
- University or Post-Graduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business
- CPA designation required.
- Real Estate and Construction experience is considered an asset.
- 5+ years of overall financial management experience.
- Knowledge of Newstar software.
- Broad understanding, holistic comprehension and thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, payroll and benefits expertise, partner agreements, and joint venture accounting.
- Strong understanding of privacy standards related to financial information, employee privacy, legislation, and confidential information.
- Ability to keep up to date with new concepts, techniques, tools, and technologies.
- Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Expert level in MS Office Suite, with specific consideration to MS Excel.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
