Accountant, Permanent Full-Time
Crossroads Children's Mental Health Centre (CCMHC) provides a wide range of mental health services for children under the age of 12 and their families. This position currently provides a shared service among two organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll, track salaries by department, and reconcile to the General Ledger. Provide salary reporting and monthly benefit, union dues, pension, and WSIB reporting.
Maintain monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts.
Assist in the annual budget process, maintain / update budget schedules.
Prepare financial package materials to be used in communications with senior management, Finance and Audit committees, and the Board of Directors.
Ensure compliance and timely completion of Ministry quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
Participate in the annual audit.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory: Must be a CPA or a student nearing completion. Payroll experience, ideally using Ceridian Powerpay. Advanced skills with MS Excel (VLOOKUP), Office 365. Knowledge and understanding of financial controls and not-for-profit accounting Excellent accounting knowledge and skills in bookkeeping and financial reporting Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with superior analysis and problem-solving skills.
