CIHI is seeking a skilled and highly respected strategic leader to join its Management Team as Executive Director, Finance.
The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides essential information on Canada’s health systems and the health of Canadians. CIHI has earned the trust of health systems as the main gatherer, packager, and disseminator of health information. Reporting to CIHI’s Vice President, Corporate Services, the Executive Director, Finance is responsible for the strategic leadership of CIHI’s finance function and providing financial advice to CIHI’s Management Team. The Executive Director oversees controllership, treasury, internal audit, procurement, administration, financial planning and analysis, and finance business partner services.
The Executive Director plays a crucial role in leading and overseeing a skilled finance team, dedicated to service excellence and that the finance function is a key enabler to stakeholders internally and externally. They will set and monitor financial targets, provide expertise in financial modeling and forecasting for new funding initiatives, lead the Finance and Audit Committee, and proactively collaborate with business areas across CIHI. The Executive Director will epitomize a culture focused on quality, innovation, and ethical behavior within the organization while promoting CIHI's vision and mandate.
As an ideal candidate, you possess a graduate degree in a relevant field or financial discipline, coupled with a professional accounting designation or an equivalent blend of education and experience. You should have over a decade of progressive senior financial management experience and excel at leading and building capacity within teams. You are highly valued for your forward thinking, proactive business acumen, and ability to effectively communicate financial matters to non-financial audiences at any level. A skilled change leader with a strong client service mentality, you are creative, solutions oriented and able to balance functioning strategically with an ability to roll up your sleeves to support your team and the enterprise in identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency. Fluency in English is mandatory, and bilingualism in both official languages is a valuable asset.
