CPA Staff Accountant

Flabbi & Associates LLP has a position available for a highly motivated, self-driven recently designated CPA. 

The position includes working in all areas of public accounting including compilation, review and audit engagements and preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.

The range of work provides excellent experience in all aspects of public practice. We are a Pre-Approved Training office enabling CPA students an opportunity to complete their required practical experience for the CPA designation. Note: at this time we are not accepting any new students and currently at the limit for registered students with CPA  Ontario.

A balanced background (i.e. both assurance and tax) would be ideal – but we can help provide that broad knowledge base for any candidate who has only focused on one particular area to date – but is willing to expand that experience.

Since we are a smaller boutique firm, the work includes completion of all aspects of files including tax. This provides the opportunity to work with a range of clients in various industries and for the role within the firm to grow as you obtain more experience.

We provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, while maintaining high professional standards.  Expectation is 35 hours of work a week. No overtime or weekends expected (or extremely rare – even in busy season).

We offer a great opportunity for a CPA who enjoys public practice but not the significant hours that often are demanded by other firms.

Although we are looking for a full time role - part time roles for a designated CPA would be considered if that is of interest to the applicant.

Hybrid work environment offered. (3 days in office; 2 working from home).  Although flexibility on days working from home – not looking for fully remote applicants.

Knowledge of Excel, Caseware, Sage, Quickbooks and Tax Prep would be a definite asset. 

Salary depends on specific experience.  However, generally:

• $75K - $80K for new CPA (recent graduate).
• $85K - $90K for CPA with 1 year post designation experience.
• $95K or more for CPA with 2 or more years experience.
