CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Sponsorship Manager who will be responsible for leading a portfolio of marque business community, finance, technology, societal and government sponsorships and partnerships, while also supporting the management of CPA Ontario’s thought leadership activities. 

As the Sponsorship Manager, you will develop and lead our sponsorship strategy, ensuring it delivers impact and value for our stakeholders while helping to advance the debate around key topics critical to our profession. Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Communications and Sustainability, you will be a cross-functional team builder that adeptly manages multiple stakeholder agendas. A relationship builder, collaborator and communicator, you will have a passion for connecting the needs of a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

Through our sponsorship and thought leadership activities we engage with key stakeholders—building the reputation of CPA Ontario and the CPA designation while helping to drive the debate around the future of our profession.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading the strategic development of an integrated sponsorship program that enhances CPA Ontario’s and the profession’s reputation. 

Managing a future-focused, aligned and symbiotic sponsorship and thought leadership program; helping to monitor emerging trends and issues (Intangibles, ESG etc.) and proactively seeking opportunities to bring forward new concepts, ideas and approaches.

Working with DEI, Student Recruitment, Sustainability, Communications, Marketing and CPA Ontario Leaders to maximize the impact or our sponsorship and thought leadership activities.

Leveraging sponsorship opportunities for brand positioning, public and media relations, corporate reputation, earned media, government stakeholder relations, lines of business marketing and employee engagement. 

Liaising with the business community and managing relationships with corporate and thought leadership partners.

Developingnegotiating and tailoring multifaceted corporate sponsorship programs to leverage commercial rights, including legal review and approval.

 

Who You Are:

A post-secondary graduate in business, marketing, communications or other related field combined with a minimum 5 years’ sponsorship and program management experience, preferably with large corporations, professional associations or marketing/consulting firms/agencies with a proven track record in developing and executing multi-stakeholder programs.

Able to link programs to business needs and have a passion for connecting programs and insights with the objective of making an impact on business and societal issues.

A proven cross-functional leader, with strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and relationship management skills as well as experience working closely/consulting with senior executives

Accustomed to working with marketers, communicators, graphic designers, event planners, creative agencies etc.

Experienced at measuring effectiveness and budgets and delivering recommendations using data and analysis.

A strong negotiator with prior experience working with legal teams on contract development.

Digitally fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
